Crouching lion hike is not a long one, but it is a great hike for some amazing views of Kahana Valley and Bay, Ka’a’awa and Kahuku. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the top and even less time getting down. You will probably spend the most time sitting at the top enjoying the views. It is called crouching lion due to the the rock formation looking like a lion that is sitting on its belly. This hike is located on Kamehameha Hwy just past Trout Farm Road. The beginning to this hike is located by a Do Not Pass sign. These photos were taken on a cloudy rainy day but I’m sure the views are even more spectacular on a sunny day! You can also continue past crouching line for a longer and much difficult hike to the summit of Pu’u Manamana mountain.
View of the trail right before you reach the top of the hike.
