Hawaii Sailing Photo Series #1

Friday nights in Waikiki are special. There are countless happy hours to satisfy any palette. Kalakaua avenue is buzzing with street performers, artists and magicians. There’s even a gorgeous weekly fireworks display at 8 o’clock. But there is also a more subtle magic happening over on the sandy side of Kalakaua.

Every friday night, 20 – 50 foot boats from rivals Waikiki Yacht Club and Hawaii Yacht Club, take to the seas to compete against each other for victory. …Or in reality, 3 pitchers of rum and coke. Classic.
